Banana Split Ice Cream Popsicles

We are so grateful for every one of you, the last 2 years have been amazing.  I fondly remember our first post ever.  I remember how exciting it was when someone found us and tried one of our recipes. Getting a comment was an incredible thrill. 2 years later it is still exhilarating to see the comments come in and hear your stories about trying the recipes. You have become like family to us.

But first lets talk ice cream.  I am so excited to share this recipe for Banana Split Ice Cream Pops.  It is all my favorite things about a banana split transformed into a fantastic ice cream pop, complete with a cherry inside!  Fresh bananas, strawberries and vanilla ice cream come together to create the base for this chocolate and peanut covered ice pop wonderland.

Coated in homemade magic shell it has a perfectly crisp chocolate and peanut coating to make this my new favorite ice cream pop.  I am sure you are going to love it too!

Servings 12 – 14 Popsicles


  • 3 bananas, 2 ripe and one fresh
  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream, softened
  • 14 medium strawberries, washed and chopped
  • 14 maraschino cherries, 1 per popsicle
  • 1 recipe homemade magic shell
  • 1 cup salted roasted peanuts, chopped


  • Chop fresh banana. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl smash 2 ripe bananas with a fork. Add chopped banana and ice cream. Stir to combine. Add strawberries, fold into mixture.
  • Add 1 cherry to the bottom of each popsicle mold. Pour ice cream mixture into molds. Cover and place sticks into the mold. Freeze for 12 hours.
  • Spread chopped peanuts across a shallow plate. Dip popsicles into homemade magic shell (in a tall, thin glass or canning jar) and then immediately place on peanuts. Flip and place on a cookie sheet and freeze or serve immediately.

I store these in sandwich bags until ready to eat to keep them fresh in the freezer.
