Although I prefer lemon over chocolate my favorite cookie is the chocolate chip cookie.  I prefer vanilla over chocolate {{{gasp}}}…  You can keep reading, its okay.  I swear I am human.  So anyway, I prefer vanilla over chocolate, yet I would choose a brownie over a blondie any day.

How to make Jack Daniel’s Salted Caramel Fudge Brownie

There is just something about the perfect simplicity of a brownie.  Sugar, butter, chocolate, eggs…  It is very perfect.  Well, almost.  I have been enjoying our Lazy Day Brownies that are so good they won a blue ribbon in a cooking contest!  I decided to take the premise of the simple brownie that I love and kick it up a bit.

Well, how do you do that?

Obviously for me adding more chocolate wasn’t what I was looking for.  But, what about adding some smokiness, some maple and a hint of woodsiness.  Oh yah!  I am talking about Jack Daniel’s.  Aside from being a favorite in many cocktails, it is amazing to cook and bake with.

Well, it was a great hunch.  Jack is fabulous in these brownies!  They are rich and fudgy, with caramel speckled throughout.  Then they are topped with a caramel sauce and dusted with salt.  OH MY WORD!  They are magical.  The perfect adult treat.

    1. I love this site. It's definetly one of the best I've seen yet. I've tried a few recipies and they are amazing. Keep up the awesome work.

  1. omg! i'm glad i'm not the only one who likes vanilla over chocolate, and lemon over chocolate! I prefer white chocolate over milk chocolate too!! and yes…. brownies are better than blondies… hahhahha!!!!! YUM!! and funny thing, I just baked brownies last night!

  2. I've been super into all the Jack Daniel's posts Donna, but these brownies are the cherry on top. Wow!! I think you need to come over on the 27th. Rachel is sleeping over before we go to Blended. I'll make dinner, Mike can make drinks, and you bring some brownies. 🙂

    1. LOL. I would love to bring you some brownies. 🙂 But, we are not attending Blended this year. BTW nice numbers this month!

  3. Your ingredient list doesn't show baking soda, but it's in your instructions. Does the recipe need baking soda and, if so, how much?

  4. I prefer chocolate over almost every other sweet dessert. Except when it comes to ice cream. I'm a purist there. Vanilla bean is where it's at.

  5. These are great! I made them as brownie bites in a mini muffin pan; got 36 and baked them c. 13-15 minutes. I used Kraft caramel bits in the batter, which I”d probably leave out next time as they stayed too chewy rather than gooey. They melted fine for the drizzle, though.

  6. 5 stars
Took all of 5 minutes for me to decide to make these and since I always have JD it was easy, these are addicting!
