Mango Banana Smoothie

Happy Monday!!!  Welcome to “On the Lighter Side” at The Slow Roasted Italian, where every Monday I will be bringing you dishes from the lighter side.  Dishes that will help you get back to your week and recuperate from your weekend.  If you are eating healthy or enjoy healthy dishes, you will want to be here every Monday to see the weekly “On the Lighter Side” spotlight.

Keep checking back, some exciting things are happening at The Slow Roasted Italian.  I have been in recipe development all week working on some new dishes that I will be sharing with you in the coming weeks.

“On the Lighter Side” this week, I bring you a simple smoothie made with mango, banana and yogurt.  It is thick, refreshing, flavorful and a great source of protein at 14 grams per serving (that’s more than 2 eggs!).

Looking for more light dishes?  Check out “On the Lighter Side” in the category section in the right  side bar.

  1. Oh YUM! Seriously, I love mango and banana together and this is perfect for a hot day! Supposed to get to 105 today! Yikes! I need this smoothie now

  2. I love mango in a smoothie. I recently made one with frozen peaches, mango and almond milk. Yum! Love this light version. Thanks

  3. I not only appreciate your light and yet very inviting concoction…I am also looking forward to your week's worth of experimentation in the kitchen ;o)

    Flavourful wishes,
    Claudia

  4. looks so good, and great picture, sorry can't afford to do another app first cost 3000 all recipes are on the blog

  5. What a great feature! I have lots of high calorie treat recipes, but I can always use a "good for you" recipe.

  6. This is a great recipe. Especially because I have two bananas on my counter and some frozen mango I need to use up. Great snack for the girls after school!!

  7. I made your smoothie for my SRC assignment this month. You made my life this month really difficult 😉 – there were just way too many great recipes on your blog, I had a long long list and simply could not choose one. So on the last day before the reveal I made the simplest one :-). The smoothie was really delicious, we had it with brunch yesterday and did not feel like we needed a dessert – it's so sweet and filling, and refreshing at the same time. Thank you for the great recipe and I will be back here for more recipes, when I'm under less pressure to choose only one 🙂

  8. What a delightful smoothie recipe! Question — do you really need the honey? I'd imagine it would be sweet enough (from all that yummy banana) without.

  9. This sounds DELICIOUS!! Thanks for sharing! Pinned 😉
    Have a fabulous week! :*)

  10. That's what I love about smoothies, they're great to experiment with! Love the fruit combo in this one!
