Blue cheese and buffalo wings are a match made in heaven.  So, when I developed the Buffalo Chicken Meatball Poppers, a light blue cheese dip was destined to follow.

The poppers are fabulous on their own, but with that outrageous blue cheese dip they are unbelievable.   Herbs and spices makes this blue cheese dip so flavorful you can serve it proudly.

The Light Blue Cheese Dip is perfect for dipping, and absolutely incredible on a salad.  Just add a little milk and you have a creamy blue cheesy light salad dressing that you are going to love… forever.

Ingredients
 

  • 5 ounces reduced fat crumbled blue cheese
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk, or make your own
  • 3/4 cup light sour cream
  • 1/4 cup light mayonnaise
  • 1/8 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped

Instructions
 

  • In a medium bowl combine all ingredients (except chives). Mix until well combined. Garnish with chives. Serve and enjoy!

Donna’s Notes

If you wish to have a creamier dip you can pour this into a food processor and blend until smooth, or smash blue cheese and buttermilk together with a fork until smooth and then add additional ingredients.

  1. I used to not care about calories but at 45, they start sneaking up on you, lol.

    I like substituting Greek non-fat yogurt for the sour cream. It is about half the calories and none of the fat and I think it tastes just as good.
