Cuisine American
Method Stovetop
Servings 10

  • 2 small lemons, the small ones have more flavor
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, set aside. Fill a bowl with ice and water and set aside. Cut lemons into very thin slices (use a sharp knife); remove and discard seeds.
  • Bring medium saucepan of water to a rolling boil over high heat.
  • Add lemon slices and stir gently until softened (to remove bitterness), 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from heat, drain water and place lemon slices in ice water. Drain lemon slices and set aside.
  • In a 10″ skillet bring water and sugar to the boil over medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved and mixture is clear.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low and add lemon slices, arranging slices so they do not overlap. Simmer, uncovered, until lemon slices are translucent, about 1 hour.
  • Transfer to prepared baking sheet; allow slices to cool completely.

  1. Hands down, the blog header design sounds the most exciting to me! The others are pretty cool, too.

  2. Honestly, I would probably be excited about the amazon gc most (I'm a book lover), but the blog design is super duper cool, and I'm excited for that too. Cocktails are fun also, but not quite up there with the other 2

  3. I'd love to win the Custom designed logo and blog header, with up to 3 concepts & up to 3 revisions on the chosen concept!.

  4. Well, I’m 10 years too late for the contest. LOL. However, I’m right on time to try the recipe. Always like to read the comments when trying something new, but sadly there aren’t any about the recipe. :/ only about the contest. Sooo, I’ll be back to add at least one. BTW, with the price of lemons these day, if I’d been around to win some money, I’d probably have used it to buy some lemons. HaHaHa.
