Happy New Years, Slow Roasters! Hope you all had an amazing Christmas and New Years. We really enjoyed spending time with our loved ones.
It doesn’t quite feel like January, it was 83 here today in Arizona. I imagine our picture gave that away.
First of the year means time for resolutions. I have been teetering on this healthy eating wagon for many months now, so I have decided that I am going to get on that wagon! So over the next few weeks (and hopefully months) you will find flavorful, delicious dishes most of which will not bust your calorie budget. You will also find incredibly tasty options for entertaining (Wednesday’s The Happy Hour) and also delicious healthy snacks for your munchkins. There will be more decadent dishes from time to time, as I am feeding a family and will share some of those dishes with you too. We will of course still have our cocktails (Ladies Night on Thursday)!
Today we have a fabulous smoothie to get your week started. Mr W and Em enjoy this smoothie nearly every morning! For my family this is a healthy breakfast replacement. With the ingredients we use, this delicious filling smoothie has 238 Calories, .5g Fat, 46 Carbs, 10g Protein. The carbs from the banana are great for early morning energy. This recipe makes 2 -24 ounce smoothies. You could serve it as a delicious mid-morning snack by cutting it to 4 servings! That would be 4 – 12 ounce smoothies at 119 calories each.

Banana Orange Smoothie
- 2 medium bananas, frozen
- 1 1/2 cups Non-fat, plain yogurt
- 1 cup Trop50 Orange drink
- Place all ingredients in the bowl of your blender, blend for 2-5 minutes until you have your desired consistency.
- Serve in 2 glasses.
