We are so excited to be partnering with Kings Hawaiian® to bring you this fabulous Holiday perfect recipe. I love the holiday season, love parties and love love love holiday parties. Although I used to be the gal to spend all day in the kitchen and have a few of my besties over to help before the party, simple is now my middle name. I love little time savers in the kitchen. When I can find time savers for a party its a double bonus. Less time in the kitchen means more time to spend with my friends.

When you break it all down I am a simple gal. I like to make things from scratch, but in the end some days, convenience is king! I have been a long time lover of sandwiches and truly enjoy dressing them up. Now don't get me wrong the PB&J that my daughter enjoys more times that I could handle is not what I mean by sandwich lover.
I enjoy meat packed sandwiches that have cheese and scrumptious sauce dripping from them. I love a nice grilled crusty exterior and did I mention cheese? That is a sandwich that you can call a meal!

The smell of spring in the air had me whipping off my grill cover and dusting off my grill this weekend. Chad has been talking about having a fine steakhouse burger all week. Let me start out by saying; I am not a vegetarian. I just choose to eat as healthy as I can. Some days that means enjoying a meat free meal. These burgers are so delicious, I actually crave them. Loaded with 3 kinds of beans, sautéed vegetables and my favorite southwestern flavors, this burger will blow your mind.

Hey Slow Roasters, there's a new chick in town! This Grilled Breaded Chicken Sandwich is a healthier version of the old fried chicken classic, with a fresh TSRI twist. Every opportunity to make this sandwich is the perfect one. This chicken is our family favorite; in fact Chad wants it on the menu every week! Last week I was brainstorming new ideas for chicken recipes and I had put together this fantastic idea for a Hawaiian inspired chicken. I had the recipe all written up when it hit me... BURGER!!! Looking for a quick and easy meal? This Spicy Grilled London Broil Steak Sandwich is the just what you have been looking for. With a spicy punch of flavor and an amazing peppercorn steak sauce you are going to love it.
Simple prep and it will be on your plate in a flash! Perfect spice, moist and delicious steak on a hoagie roll. What could be better? Chad and I both devoured this steak and enjoyed several sandwiches each.
The steak was also delicious on a salad with ranch dressing. This recipe is a keeper!

I created this burger for Chad, my awesome husband. His love of way too spicy hot sauce and buffalo wings coated in said hot sauce was the inspiration for this burger. Right away I knew that the burger needed to be on a pretzel bun; this fabulous definition of what a pretzel bun should taste like. It is firm and pretzely on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside. What a magical combination!

Summer salads are always a favorite at barbecues and summertime parties. When you are having a Summer Grilling Celebration, how do you bring your favorite Caprese salad to the grill? You transform it into an incredibly scrumptious gourmet burger that captures the essence of summer! With luscious tomato, fresh basil, creamy mozzarella and sweet balsamic vinegar this burger was destined for TSRI's burger hall of fame.
A perfectly grilled beef burger drizzled with a sweet balsamic reduction, served atop a layer of fresh chunky tomato sauce on a toasted ciabatta bun is enough to make your stomach growl and your taste buds swoon! Add a slice of fresh mozzarella and a spoonful of fresh pesto mayonnaise and you may just have to pick your tongue up off the floor!

This is THE burger to wake up your taste buds! From the smokehouse flavors to the bacon and bbq sauce, flowing all the way down the river of beer cheese. This burger will have your mouth watering at first sight and your taste buds dancing with pure delight!
I was looking for the ultimate grilling creation to make for Chad (it is his birthday this week). I knew it had to be bold and passionate (like me). It had to be big, flavorful and loaded with cheese and bacon. I knew a burger would be perfect for this occasion. I have to search for the exact words to describe this burger... Maybe love. Can you feel love for a burger? Well if you can this is the burger. Chad looked like a kid on Christmas morning when he saw this burger. Once he took his first bite, his eyes rolled back in his head and the air was filled with mmmmm's. I love that sound! Needless to say this burger is a member of the clean plate club. Not even a drip of cheese was left on the plate. He licked it clean!
Did you take a REALLY GOOD LOOK at this tantalizing burger??? Go ahead, I'll wait. 8 ounces of ground chuck perfectly spiced with chipotle chile pepper. It is served over a bed of sweet and spicy TSRI's Signature Barbecue Sauce. A heaping scoop of luscious Beer Cheddar Cheese Sauce is poured over top, with 4 bacon strips all on a toasted ciabatta roll. This is the definition of burger heaven. Purely decadent and delicious. Chad has requested this for his birthday dinner too.

Hi Slow Roasters, thank you for joining us to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of The Slow Roasted Italian. It has been such an amazing year. When I first started this blog, I thought I would just be making a record of the recipes that I use regularly, something to look back on and a place for my family to be able to go to pull up the recipes they love. I never really knew that it would be such a fabulous experience. I can't believe how much I have learned over the last year. Flavor profiles, descriptive words, testing recipes, photo composition (although, except a few lucky shots I am still at a loss on this one) thank goodness my amazing husband and partner is such a wonderful photographer.

A celebration of summer with a flavorful seasoned lean turkey burger slider as the star. With fresh guacamole and a vegetable packed salsa, it is almost health food. Well that is what I told myself as I bit into the 2nd mouthwatering juicy slider. Crunchy, creamy, hearty and flavorful a burger so fantastic you can't help but eat 2, or 3.... We are delighted to be participating in The Secret Recipe Club this month. It is so exciting, kind of like Christmas. This is how it works... A name is 'drawn' and assigned to you. We drew The Keenan Cookbook. We were very excited to find this blog. It is a joint venture by husband and wife Chris and Rachel from New Jersey who have one child (and one on the way, congrats!!!). I really enjoy husband and wife blogs, I appreciate the difference in style when it is a collaboration (much like TSRI). At The Keenan Cookbook he cooks and she photographs.

Welcome to TSRI's Summer Grilling Celebration! We are enjoying a whole month of grilling and summer dishes. Today, we are talking serious burgers, seriously! This burger is a FIESTA of southwestern flavors, some of my favorites wrapped up into one amazing burger. Believe me when I say, I ate the whole thing!! I could not stop myself it is so good.
This burger is incredibly moist with a nice little kick. Served with Grilled Sweet Potato Fries, this burger is a member of the clean plate club. I tell you there was not even a crumb remaining on my plate!

This weekend being Labor Day weekend and everyone is barbequing, it only seemed right to share with you this amazing burger.
It was first introduced to us by one of our best friends, Uncle Kitty, my bestie YaYa's husband. Well after making them a few times the burger recipe has been perfected and I am in awe of the deliciousness of this amazing carnivorous treat!!! With 1/4 pound of beef and a 1/4 pound of bacon in every burger, it is unbelievably flavorful on its own. You absolutely have to give it a try! No spices, no special recipes... Just 2 ingredients and fire (the grill). The fifty fifty burger!
We love these burgers and enjoyed them on movie night, followed by a fantastic viewing of "To Kill a Mockingbird". Great movie and fabulous burger!!
50/50 Beef Bacon Burger
1 pound thick cut bacon
1 pound 93% lean beef
8 hamburger buns
4 cheese slices
toppings (lettuce, tomato and onion)
Preheat oven to 375°.
On a baking sheet with a 1/2" to 3/4" lip line up bacon. Do not let the slices overlap. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the bacon is partially cooked. Remove and place on a cooling rack with a cookie sheet under it to catch the grease (or onto paper towels).
Once bacon is drained and cool enough to to handle, place on cutting board and dice bacon or cut with kitchen shears.
Mix bacon and beef well. Form into 4 patties, not too thick or they will not cook evenly.
Place patties on grill, make sure they are not touching. Grill for 3 to 5 minutes on each side until done to your preference.
Top with cheese for the last few minutes, and grill your buns by brushing with butter and putting on the grill until toasted with grill marks. Serve with your favorite toppings, we chose lettuce, tomato and onion.
