Peach Crisp (Air Fryer)

This peach crisp recipe uses canned fruit and pantry staples to create a tasty sweet treat. Enjoy this easy air fryer dessert year round!

Each and every bite of tender peaches and crunchy topping is bursting with irresistible tart and sweet flavors. Trust me, you’ll want to keep these all to yourself!

My cherry dump cake is just as easy to put together, but it takes longer to bake and you’ll need to turn on the oven.

Instead, try some of my other air fryer dessert recipes like crispy churros or smores hand pies. Both are ready in about 20 minutes with very little prep!

Homemade Peach Crisp - Tips and Tricks

  • Canned vs fresh - This recipe can be made with either variety, but I wouldn’t recommend using frozen. For canned, choose the kind in 100% juice, not syrup. Fresh peaches should be firm with some give when you squeeze them and free of any dents or bruising.
  • Save some effort. Toss the crumb ingredients into a food processor and pulse until combined.
  • Cornstarch substitute: Arrowroot powder or instant tapioca are great alternatives and will help the peaches thicken just as well.
  • Want more spice? Swap the cinnamon for allspice or pumpkin pie spice instead.

What’s the difference between a cobbler and a crisp?

While both start with a sweetened fruit base, they have completely different toppings.

Cobblers started out more like a pie, but now rounds of biscuit dough or cake batter are dropped by the spoonful to create a thick, fluffy top layer. It looks a bit like a cobbled road when baked, which is where the name comes from.

Instead, crisps and crumbles have a topping made from a simple mixture of butter, sugar, and something to bind them together such as flour or oats.

It starts out “crumbly” and then “crisps” when baked to form a crunchy topping that contrasts the tender fruit.

Kitchen Tools You Will Need

  • Air Fryer - Different brands and sizes will require different cooking times, so be familiar with your model and make adjustments as needed.
  • Mixing Bowls - I like to have a variety of sizes on hand, and this set has them all.
  • Pastry Cutter for blending the butter into the crumb ingredients
  • 6-inch Cake Rounds - Check to be sure these will fit in the basket before starting this peach crisp recipe. If they are too big, use several ramekins for individual desserts.

FAQ - Common Recipe Questions

This peach crisp recipe uses two pans - are they cooked at the same time?

No. Because of the limited space in the air fryer, you will need to cook each one separately.

It’s also possible to halve the recipe, but you will need to carefully measure the peaches especially if you are using canned.

How do I store this air fryer dessert?

Allow the peach crisp to cool completely, then cover tightly with foil or transfer to a sealed container. Keep at room temperature or in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Can I freeze it?

I wouldn’t recommend freezing once it’s been made because the topping will become soggy.

You can, however, freeze it before baking for up to 3 months. Then, pop it right in the air fryer and increase the time so the center is cooked through.

Peach filling
  • 1 (29 ounce) can peaches in 100% juice or 5 large ripe peaches
  • 3 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 6 Tablespoons brown sugar, packed

  • 6 Tablespoons salted butter, softened
  • Optional garnishes: vanilla ice cream, whipped topping

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees F, if your model calls for preheating.
  2. Drain the peaches or peel and slice if you are using fresh peaches and put them in a large bowl.
  3. Add the brown sugar, cinnamon and cornstarch to the waiting peaches. Toss until the peaches are well-coated.
  4. Grease the bottom and sides of two 6- inch cake rounds (check that your baking pan will fit into your air fryer first) with butter or nonstick cooking spray.
  5. Spoon the peach mixture into the baking pan.
  6. To make your topping, place the flour, brown sugar and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl and cut in the butter with a pastry blender or pulse in a food processor, until well-blended.
  7. Sprinkle the crumb mixture on top of the peaches.
  8. Cover the pans with aluminum foil and place the pan in the air fryer.
  9. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes.
  10. Carefully take the aluminum foil off and bake for another 10 or 15 minutes, or until the top is lightly browned and the peach layer is bubbling slightly.
  11. Carefully remove the pan from the air fryer and let cool for 5-10 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped topping, optional.
