There’s nothing worse than exploded appetizers that are still somehow cold in the center. Luckily, there’s an easy fix!
Instead of heating up the oven or cleaning sauce off the sides of your microwave, you can cook up these popular frozen snacks with perfect results in minutes.
Just like pizza rolls in the air fryer, you can prepare all kinds of appetizers and snacks in a fraction of the time they’d take in the oven.
Whether it’s french fries and onion rings or crispy mozzarella sticks, there’s sure to be something to satisfy your craving. I even have recipes for juicy wings or pigs in a blanket!
Air Fryer Pizza Rolls - Tips and Tricks
- Cook from frozen. There’s no need to thaw these first, but you also shouldn’t let them rest on the counter beforehand. Transfer them straight from the freezer to the basket for best results.
- Don’t crowd the basket. Place the pizza rolls in a single layer for better circulation. If you end up stacking them, they will take longer to cook and may not heat evenly.
- Flip halfway. This helps them crisp on all sides so the bottoms don’t become soggy.
- Adjust the cooking time. If you will be preparing a smaller amount, you may want to decrease the time by a minute.
- Let them cool! Trust me - the filling will be extra hot and you don’t want to burn your mouth. You’ll only have to wait a minute or two.

FAQ - Common Recipe Questions
How long do you cook pizza rolls in the air fryer? There are many factors to consider, including the size of your appliance as well as store bought versus homemade versions.
That said, 5 minutes at 400°F seems to be the sweet spot for the frozen variety.
I highly recommend checking them 30 seconds before they are done just to be safe. Sometimes they aren’t fully sealed, so you should pull them early if any of them start to open up.
Do I need to preheat first?
It’s not a bad idea, especially with frozen foods, but I haven’t found it to make much of a difference.

How do I prevent air fryer pizza rolls from sticking?
While this isn’t usually a problem, sometimes it happens! Lightly brush a little olive oil on the basket before adding the food, or use a spray bottle instead.

Aerosolized cooking sprays are not safe as they can cause the basket to deteriorate over time.

Air Fryer Pizza Rolls
Air fryer pizza rolls come out crisp on the outside, hot on the inside, and without any oozing from the seams. Make them in under 5 minutes!
Prep time: 5 MinCook time: 5 MinTotal time: 10 Min
Ingredients
- 20 pizza rolls, frozen
- Garnish (optional): Marinara sauce and chopped parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes.
- Place 20 frozen (do not thaw or allow to rest on the counter before cooking) pizza rolls in a single layer in the bottom of your air fryer basket. Set the timer to cook for 5 minutes. Stop to flip the rolls after cooking for 3 minutes. Cook for an additional minute, and check on pizza rolls. Cook for an additional 30 seconds to 1 minute, or until pizza rolls are cooked without any sauce or cheese oozing out of the seams.
- Allow to cool for 1 to 2 minutes. Serve with marinara sauce and top with chopped parsley, (optional).
DONNA'S NOTES
- These were tested in the Cosori Air Fryer, 5.8 qt, 1700 watts. If you have a different air fryer or you are using more or less pizza rolls than what is listed in the recipe, your results may vary. Test a few pizza rolls before making a full batch for maximum results.
- No oil is needed for this recipe.
- I recommend placing your pizza rolls in a single layer to allow the air to flow around the food. If you overcrowd the basket or stack on top of eachother, they may not cook unevenly and require longer cooking times.
- I highly recommend checking the pizza rolls 30 seconds before the end cooking time for maximum results. I have noticed that not all pizza rolls are sealed perfectly straight out of the bag, so it is best to check on them. If you see one pizza roll start to open up, I recommend stopping cooking at this point.
- How long do you cook pizza rolls in the air fryer for? With 20 frozen pizza rolls in the Cosori 5.8 qt air fryer, it took only 4 ½ to 5 minutes to cook perfectly with a crisp outer shell with hot filling. Every air fryer is different and also pizza rolls may vary if you are using a different brand or making homemade rolls. These were frozen beforehand without any thawing.
