Green Goddess Salad Panera

The Green Goddess Salad Panera Bread recipe is easy to make at home for a fraction of the cost. Enjoy it for dinner or a week’s worth of lunches!

Green goddess chicken salad is topped with fresh tomatoes, avocado, hard boiled eggs, and crispy bacon. Tying it all together is a creamy, herbaceous dressing that is homemade as well!

How To Recreate Green Goddess Salad From Panera

Add a handful or two of spring mix to your plates and pile on the toppings.

You will need to prep a few things first unless you are an expert at multitasking! The bacon can go in the oven while you hard boil the eggs on the stove or in an air fryer.

Then, fire up the grill and cook your chicken breasts to perfection. Let them rest for a few minutes so they stay nice and juicy, then slice and place on top of everything else.

Drizzle with some of my homemade green goddess salad dressing and dig right in!

I don’t have a grill. Is there another way to cook the chicken?

You can cook it on the stove in a large skillet instead. Heat a little bit of oil over medium-high heat, then place the meat in the pan leaving space between each breast.

Cook for 5 to 7 minutes without moving, then flip each piece and cook for an additional 5 to 7 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.

  • Outdoor or Countertop Grill
  • Cutting Board - A big solid cutting board makes prepping a breeze. I use mine daily, so it’s worth the investment to get a good quality one.

Serving Suggestions

Enjoy it as a full meal or add a piece of crusty bread to soak up the extra dressing.

You could also create a homemade You Pick Two combo by pairing a smaller portion with soup or a sandwich.

FAQ - Common Recipe Questions

What’s the difference between this recipe and the Green Goddess Salad Panera Bread Recipe?

There are just a few minor adjustments based on what was more readily available, but they are close enough that you shouldn’t be able to tell the difference.

Instead of grape tomatoes and pickled red onions, this green goddess chicken salad has cherry tomatoes and sliced shallots. Plus I added some feta cheese crumbles which aren’t in the original recipe, but you can leave those out if you prefer.

Is there another lettuce I can use if I don’t like spring mix?

Yes, it tastes just as delicious with some chopped romaine instead.

Can I make green goddess chicken salad ahead of time?

Absolutely! I suggest mixing together only the greens and toppings, then adding the chicken and dressing just before serving.

That said, you can prepare everything a day or two in advance and keep covered in separate containers in the refrigerator.

Ingredients

  • 3 chicken breasts (about 1 1/2 pounds)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 9 ounces spring salad mix
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 3 hard boiled eggs, chopped
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese crumbles
  • 1 shallot, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup TSRI's green goddess salad dressing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to 400°F.
  2. Sprinkle the chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Grill the chicken for 5-7 minutes, per side until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. Remove the chicken from the grill and allow it to rest for 5 minutes.
  3. Place the salad mix on three dinner plates.
  4. Top each salad with tomatoes, bacon, eggs, avocado, cheese, and shallot.
  5. Slice your chicken breast and place one breast on each salad.
  6. Drizzle the dressing over the top of each salad.
