I love a good wing recipe because they can be served in so many different ways. If you're looking for a new appetizer or finger food recipe, I hope you'll try a few of these.

Lemon pepper wings have a zesty, irresistible sauce! This is another one of my favorite air fryer recipes, but you can bake them in an oven if you prefer.

Crock pot chicken wings (Buffalo) have a spicy Buffalo sauce for a fantastic snack or light meal. Make this slow cooker recipe for game day parties!

Sriracha honey chicken wings are out of this world. Sweet and spicy with a great added layer of flavor from the limes.

How to make honey BBQ wings

Making this recipe is beyond easy.
  1. Prep the chicken wings.

First, use paper towels to pat the wings dry, then place them into a large mixing bowl.
  1. Spray the fryer basket and preheat the air fryer.
  2. Make the honey BBQ sauce and coat the wings with it.
After you make the sauce, add it to the bowl of wings. Toss everything well so each of the wings is covered with sauce.
  1. Cook the chicken, test for doneness, and serve!
Before serving, use a food thermometer to check hat the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.

Recipe tips
How many wings can I air fry at one time?

How much chicken you can fit in your fryer will depend on the brand and the size of the basket.

But, it's very important that you place them into the basket in a single layer while allowing enough room for the air to circulate.

Can I make air fryer chicken wings with skinless chicken?

This honey BBQ wings recipe will work just as well with poultry without the skin. It's a wonderful way to cut the fat content of your favorite recipe.

How to keep air fryer wings crispy

To keep your chicken crispy, it's important that you leave enough room in the fryer for the air to circulate. And, never stack the meat on top of the first layer when cooking.

You can always remove the chicken from the fryer and keep them warm while you make another batch. This way they will be crispy every time you make them.

Cooking tips
  • If you want to make spicy honey BBQ wings, you can add a bit of hot sauce to the barbecue sauce.
  • You can reduce the honey by one third if you prefer a sauce that's a bit less sweet.
  • If you want grilled honey barbecue wings, you can toss them on the grill for 25 minutes.

Serving suggestions
The honey sauce makes the chicken finger-licking good. But, if you want something to dip them into, you can try one of these options.
  • Ranch dressing
  • Blue cheese dressing
  • Alfredo sauce
  • Greek yogurt
  • Sour cream
  • Thousand Island dressing

Then, garnish your honey barbecue chicken with sliced scallions, sesame seeds, or cilantro.

This healthy chicken wings recipe works wonderfully on its own as an appetizer at your next party. But, if you want to serve it as part of a meal, consider serving one of these dishes with it.

How to store leftovers
If these honey BBQ wings don't disappear on the first day you make them, you can store them in the refrigerator. Place them in a container with a tightly fitting lid and use them within 3 to 5 days.

If you have extra sauce, you can store it in a separate container. Then, use it with your next batch or as a dipping sauce when you reheat them.

How to freeze leftovers
If you want your leftovers to be good for more than 3 to 5 days, you will need to freeze them. You can place them in a resealable plastic zipper bag in the freezer and use them within 3 months.

To reheat your air fryer chicken wings, allow them to defrost in the refrigerator overnight. Then, toss them back in the fryer for 9 minutes, flipping them partway through for even reheating.

Enjoy!
