How to Peel Garlic in 7 Seconds

How to peel garlic in 7 seconds

Having a simple kitchen is a lot easier than you would think.  I keep my pantry stocked with staples and things I may need in a pinch.  But, even being well prepared there are those days when kitchen shortcuts are a meal saver.

After a long day at work, the last thing I want to do is spend a long time in the kitchen preparing a meal.  I save time where I can and I am so excited to share one of my favorite time saving kitchen tips with you.

I can’t tell you how much garlic I use, it’s a lot.  I buy it at my wholesale club so I always have it on hand.  I chop it, slice it, dice it, turn it into a paste,  and roast it.  But after a long day, when I need whole garlic cloves I have no patience to peel it.

With my kitchen shortcut I am on my way in just 7 seconds and in my kitchen that is a dinner saver!

Ingredients

  • 1 garlic clove

Instructions

  1. Simply place a garlic clove on a microwave safe dish and microwave it for 7 seconds. The skins will just about fall off in the microwave.
  2. Then, simply press on the end of the garlic clove and the skin will pop right off. Done.
  3. You can do an entire head of garlic in about 20-25 seconds.

  3. I can't stand to drink buttermilk, but I use it in a lot of stuff, sorry to say, I throw half out, most times. Can anyone tell me if the taste of using buttermilk is the same as using Lemon/Milk? Mostly I use mine in baking. thank you love your tips.
