Simple Blueberry Blast Sauce Ready in 10 Minutes

I can't seem to get enough blueberries this summer.  I know we are only a week into June, but we have been to Costco at least 3 times in the last week and a half to pick up more berries.  I love their fresh berries.  They are always great quality.

When I was working on my new favorite lemon cake (check back for that one). I decided blueberry sauce would be divine on top.  I was soooo right.  But not just any sauce.  The Berry Blueberry Sauce is thick and bright with the addition of orange juice it really zings.  The addition of almond really gives this sauce a fantastic flavor.

My family does not care for the blueberry skins, so I popped the sauce into my blender and gave it a whirl.  You can serve it right off the stove too!  Perfectly summery.  Simple and ready in just 10 minutes.

With love from our kitchen table to yours!  XO

3 Ingredient Homemade Strawberry Syrup is perfectly simple and delicious.  So good you will eat it right off a spoon.

Orange Amaretto Syrup - unlike any syrup you have ever had; bright citrusy, thick & delicious w/a hint of almond to bring it all together.

Homemade Creamy Lemon Syrup is bursting with the perfect lemon flavor.  A great compliment to pancakes, cakes, ice cream and so much more!

Blueberry Blast Sauce
makes approximately 4 cups

4 cups fresh or frozen blueberries (unsweetened)
1 cup orange juice
1 ½ cup granulated sugar
1 ½ teaspoon almond extract

Combine berries, juice and sugar in a medium saucepan over medium high heat.  Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.  Boil until all berries are soft enough that they burst under light pressure.  About 3-5 minutes.

If you like your mixture smooth, transfer to a blender and puree on high until all blueberries are pureed, about 15-30 seconds.

Serve and enjoy!

Cook’s note:  This sauce is EVEN better the next day!

  1. Going to Costco tomorrow for more blueberries and cherries- I love it when they're in season! I have a blueberry pound cake that this would be perfect on. :)
