We are so excited to be partnering with Kings Hawaiian® to bring you this fabulous Holiday perfect recipe. I love the holiday season, love parties and love love love holiday parties. Although I used to be the gal to spend all day in the kitchen and have a few of my besties over to help before the party, simple is now my middle name. I love little time savers in the kitchen. When I can find time savers for a party its a double bonus. Less time in the kitchen means more time to spend with my friends.

Living in Arizona for 15 years I have developed a deep love for southwestern flavors. When it comes to soup I don't think there is a soup more suited to the southwest than Chicken Tortilla Soup. Classic ingredients of this Mexican inspired soup are some of my favorites.

Can you really ever have enough soup? I think not. I am not big on whimpy soups. I like hearty flavorful, 'beefy' soups. The kind of soups that stick to your ribs that you can walk away from the table without needing to eat a whole loaf of bread too and really feel satisfied.

I never really embraced casseroles until I moved out on my own. Once I became a busy mom, simple has become a way of life that carries from the kitchen to travel and back again. Casseroles truly embody a simple dinner. Especially on the weeknights after a long day of working, schooling, play dates and taking care of the family a simple dinner is perfect.

We are so excited to be partnering with Terrapin Ridge Farms. We love fun dips, sauces and toppings and that is just the beginning of what we found on their site. Playing with their sauces, spreads, dips and glazes was so much fun. I can not believe all the flavors that are available.
I remember, a few months ago while vacationing we ran into this great boutique shop that sold salsas, jellies and jams. We spent hours in there sampling the different flavors. I have such appreciation for unusal flavor combinations and we were looking for something to really knock our socks off.
After working with Terrapin Ridge Farms over the last few months I am completely and totally blown away by the fabulous flavor combinations available from one brand. I was most taken by their commitment to quality. They use the very best ingredients and most are all natural and gluten free. Which makes me feel great about serving them to my 3 year old.
While I enjoyed playing with all of their products, and believe me there are an array of amazing flavor combinations, my favorite was their Sriracha Sauce. I swear it is perfect heat for me. Living in the southwest we eat a lot of hot peppers, spices and hot flavors. I like heat but I am more of a medium heat kinda girl. Where Chad loves Serrano and Habaneros, they can be a little much for me. This Sriracha Sauce is perfect. It starts off with the classic sriracha and they add tomato puree and some smoky spices to really knock it out of the park.

Chicken pot pies absolutely rank high on my comfort food radar. But finding the time to dote over the perfect classic chicken pot pie can take hours and to be honest after a long hard day working and taking care of my 3 year old. I do not have the time or patience for that.
What I do have is a never ending desire for fabulous flavorful food in snap! This skillet hits the mark. From the time I put the skillet on the stove until the time it was on my plate was a mere 30 minutes. That I can do! Definitely the new family favorite.
With a secret ingredient that really takes this dish to the next level and only 30 minutes from prep to plate this will be on your menu again and again.

Check out our new beer cheese soup: Bacon Double Cheeseburger Beer Cheese Soup
Sometimes I am brilliant on the fly. You know what I mean, you are rushed for dinner and you start pulling things out of your fridge and pantry and create the most spectacular dinner ever. Other nights you get stuck in one mindset. OK, I have chicken and need to make soup. Hmmm.... Chicken noodle soup. Luckily this week Chad was incredibly inspiring.
I told him I needed a soup made with chicken. We threw some ideas around and then he said: bacon, chicken cheese. OH YAY! I got that.

I have been talking about fall all week, so it must come as no surprise that I broke out my soup pot this week. Chad was feeling under the weather so I made him a triple batch of our favorite chicken noodle soup. Well I have to say I was incredibly jealous. I wanted soup too! I tend not to resort to chicken noodle soup unless I am really.really.really sick. I want a thick rich hearty soup that will stick to your bones and fill you up. So, I got to work.
Italian sausage, fresh basil and a few more ingredients and I was staring at the soup from my dreams. Just 30 minutes and I was diving into a stick to your ribs kinda soup. Now that's what I'm talking 'bout.

As we all prepare for back to school I have found myself shopping, researching and planning. Munchkin starts preschool this year. The supplies list is as long as my arm. Scissors, crayons, pencils, markers, notebooks, iPad, Mac Book Pro (ha! Just checking if you are listening), paper, art supplies, folders, paints... The list goes on and on. You would think we were starting our own academy.
I know everyone is preparing as 100 other parents are in the back to school aisle with us. They are aimlessly wandering the aisles like zombies with a list in hand. I do hope I am a little more organized, but even so it is overwhelming. Like most parents I feel lost gathering these supplies for my kid.
However, I feel more confident preparing healthy meals for my preschooler. I am am expert in the kitchen, not the back to school aisle, so answering all of the anxious parents requests for recipes that can be made ahead, frozen and reheated and are healthier options for the kids to take to school or eat after school is my forte. We decided to put together our favorite bites for our Munchkin. She loves them and I am sure you will too! Either way, all these meals will be a hit with your family.
Seeing your kids go back to school... Are you excited, sad or a little bit of both?

I am so happy that it is grilling season again. I am giddy over this Grilled Tequila Lime Chicken recipe! I know I could grill all year long living in Arizona, but there is just something about spring and summer that makes grilling that much more fun. I'm in a boozy kinda grilling groove.

The meals that really stick in my memory from my childhood are the ones that we enjoyed on Sunday. Sunday dinners were always filled with family, fun, lots of love and the best food we ate all week.
Memories of my mom and dad in the kitchen wash over me as I remember those days. My daddy belting out a heartfelt 50’s tune to my mom in the kitchen still leaves me swirling.

Spring has sprung and I am craving light and fresh flavors. Of course a salad was a great way to go. But, this isn't just any salad. The lemon-pepper chicken is so flavorful it will take you by surprise and the salad has a special ingredient that really makes it pop! Can you guess what it is???
Crisp, crunchy and flavorful. I would tell you I am going to have this for lunch again... However the chicken is apparently so good that it magically disappeared (I am pretty sure I have a suspect).
Hurry and make it while no one is looking!

Chad and I attended Blended 2012 in Phoenix this January (our first blogging conference) is was a lovely get together and a fabulous way to meet others with the same passion as us and get to know some really great brands. There were a lot of door prizes and 2 HUGE swag bags full of goodies that we got to take home. One door prize that I had my eye on was a cooler of 11 organic herbs and spices.

Sunday lasagna has been a family favorite for as long as I can remember. Growing up, it was an ‘event’ that was reserved for special occasions because preparations virtually took all day. A long simmering red sauce that would impart a deep roasted tomato flavor was an important ingredient in our family lasagna along with cheese, cheese and more cheese.

Now you can finally answer the question, what can I make with chicken? How many times have you taken a pound of chicken out of the freezer with no idea what you were going to make with it? I have to admit that has been the case on more than one occasion. Here are 19 fabulous recipes that go from prep to plate in 30 minutes or less.
