The Classic Ladies Martini - The Cosmopolitan

It's Thursday Slow Roasters and that means its Ladies Night at The Slow Roasted Italian!!!  Chad and I really love Ladies Night.  It has given us a chance to try so many different cocktail recipes and given Chad a chance to spread his mixology wings.  He has developed so many amazing drinks over the past year.

One of my all time favorite cocktail creations ever is the Puckered Jalapeño Frozen Margarita.  This perfect cocktail inspired a Jalapeño Margarita recently posted by our friends over at Rufus' Food and Spirits Guide.  Greg and Katherine at Rufus are a lot of fun.  They have a cocktail post every week with lots of good food on the days in between.  I guess I would describe them as a lot like TSRI with truffle oil. Check them out!  You won't be disappointed.

Well, lets get to what we are serving up this week...  I am really excited to share this classic cocktail that was made famous by the ladies on the HBO show Sex and the City. The Cosmo!  While revisiting the classics the Cosmopolitan Martini is a perfect stop.  It is the consummate Ladies Night cocktail.  Perfectly  balanced sweet and tart.  Not to mention, such a good looking cocktail.  You are going to love this classic!  So, kick off your heels and pour one tonight!

Don't forget to check us out on Facebook - we have a virtual Ladies Night party every Thursday.  Come and link up your favorite cocktail or dish!  Fabulous cocktails, fantastic food and amazing company.  Its the place to be on Thursdays!

Puckered Jalapeño Frozen Margarita is the perfect cocktail. Spicy jalapeño flavor in a cooling frozen cocktail, lemony sweet with a salted rim, served with a jalapeño. FIESTA!!!

Classic Cosmopolitan
2 ounces vodka
1 ounce triple sec
2 1/2 ounces cranberry juice
1 ounce lime juice
lime wedge to garnish
ice

Fill cocktail shaker with ice.  Pour ingredients (except garnish) into shaker.  Shake.  Strain into a chilled martini glass.  Garnish with lime wedge.  Serve and enjoy!

  1. I've always wanted to try this drink. All I need is the cranberry juice and I can give it a try. Thanks Donna!

  3. This is not what I was remembering as a Cosmo at all. This is my favorite Cran and Belvedere combination with lime!! I've never tried it with triple sec though. I just added it to my to-try list. Thanks!
