Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip
Happy Friday Slow Roasters and welcome to Diving Into Decadence at The Slow Roasted Italian. At our last party the star dessert was this amazingly addictive Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip that was served with animal crackers and fruit slices.
For a party where every food was a dip of some sort this was truly the icing on the cake. We also enjoyed
4 Layer Pizza Dip with Parmesan Herb Bread Sticks, 7 Layer Mexican Bean Dip along with a few other finger foods. The party was a hit and so was this dip! Enjoy.
Recipe adapted from Two Peas and Their Pod
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip
1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 cups mini semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
pinch salt
Melt butter in a small pot over medium heat. Add brown sugar and stir until sugar dissolves and mixture starts to bubble. Set aside to cool, and whisk in vanilla.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together cream cheese and powdered sugar for 60 seconds. With mixer on low speed, add in salt, brown sugar and butter mixture. Mix until combined.
Add 1 cup chocolate chips, continue to mix until combined.
Garnish with remaining chocolate chips. Serve with animal crackers and sliced fruit.
Enjoy!

How much brown sugar should we use for this recipe?
ReplyDelete1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed. : )
ReplyDeleteI totally need this in my life.
ReplyDeleteDoes the brown sugar mixture need to be completely cooled? I added the brown sugar mixture right after I mixed the cream cheese mix and it came out watery.
ReplyDeleteIt does not need to completely cool. It should cool for several minutes while you are working on the cream cheese.
DeleteHope that helps.
I made this for a party and everyone went crazy over it. I am forwarding them all this link.
