1tablespooncornstarchmixed with 2 tablespoons water, for sealing the rolls
vegetable oil(for frying)
Dipping Sauce:
1/2cupmayonnaise
2tablespoonssweet pickle relish
1tablespoonketchup
1tablespoonminced onion
1/2teaspoonpaprika
Instructions
For the beef mixture:
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and diced onion to the skillet. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is softened.
Drain any excess grease from the skillet, then return it to the heat. Add the diced American cheese, ketchup, and salt and pepper to the skillet. Stir until the cheese is melted and everything is well combined. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
Assembly:
Lay one spring roll wrapper on a clean surface. Place about 2 tablespoons of the cheeseburger filling diagonally across the center of the wrapper.
Fold the bottom corner of the wrapper up over the filling. Fold in the sides, then roll tightly towards the top corner, sealing the edges with a mixture of cornstarch and water.
Repeat this process for the remaining spring roll wrappers and filling.
Frying:
In a large skillet or pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Carefully place a few spring rolls into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them until golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally for even cooking. This should take about 3-4 minutes per batch.
Once the spring rolls are cooked, remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
Dipping Sauce:
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sweet relish, ketchup, minced onion, and paprika. Mix well until all the ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.
Serve the cheeseburger spring rolls hot with the dipping sauce on the side. Enjoy!
