Italian Easter Cookies

soft & buttery

Italian Easter Cookies are perfectly tender and melt-in-your-mouth delicious! This is one of my family’s favorite Italian Easter desserts, and I think it will be one of your favorites, too!

Unsalted Butter | Sugar | Eggs Whole Milk | Flour | Vanilla Almond Extract | Baking Powder

KEY INGREDIENTS

ICING Powdered Sugar | Whole Milk Corn Syrup | Almond Extract Gel Food Coloring | Sprinkles

1

Mix the wet and dry ingredients separately, then alternate, adding milk and the dry mixture to the butter/sugar mixture, until combined.

2

Scoop out some dough and roll into logs, then twist the logs into a knot for half of the cookies. For the other half of the cookies, form donut shapes.

3

Next, bake the cookies until the bottoms are just slightly golden brown. Allow to cool and start whisking all of the icing ingredients to form a smooth glaze.

4

Divide the glaze between four bowls and stir a tiny drop of gel food coloring into each bowl. Then dip the cookies into the glaze.

5

Sprinkle with nonpareils and leave until the glaze sets and is dry to the touch.
