Instructions
To create basil simple syrup: In a small sauce pan over medium-high heat combine sugar, water and basil leaves. Bring to a boil and cook until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature (about 30 minutes). Strain basil leaves and place basil simple syrup in a mason jar.
In a blender combine ice, lemon juice (start with 1 cup and adjust to taste) and basil simple syrup. Blend until fine consistency is reached. Serve in a glass garnished with basil leaves.
