Homemade Watermelon Dog Treats
Frozen Watermelon Dog Treats are naturally sweet and full of protein and vitamins. Keep your fur baby healthy, safe, and cool this summer!
Ingredients
- 2 Cups watermelon deseeded
- 1/2 Cup plain Greek Yogurt
Instructions
- Remove the rind from your watermelon and slice it into large chunks.
- Combine both ingredients in a food processor and blend until no chunks appear and it’s smooth.
- Place the silicone molds on a hard, flat, moveable surface such as a small cutting board.
- Using the injector or the pouring tool of your choice, fill the cavities of the molds until it hits just under the brim.
- Gently and carefully place the treats in the freezer for 3 hours or until frozen solid.
Notes
These are great for humans as well. They’re safe and healthy to boot!
Want to add some sweetness to the treat? Toss in 2 Tablespoons of dog-safe honey.
I know using an injector sounds like a funny thing to do, but since the molds are so small, it’s the best tool for the job.
Do not store outside the freezer or the treats will melt. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 months.
