Instructions
Prepare Simple Syrup
Combine the strawberries and water in a saucepan over medium high heat.
Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes, until the liquid is deeply red and the strawberry are soft.
Strain the strawberries through a fine mesh strainer into a clean saucepan, making sure not to press down on the berries (this makes the syrup cloudy). Discard the solids.
Add 2 cups of sugar to the liquid and bring the mixture back to a boil, stirring frequently to dissolve the sugar.
Cool the syrup before using.
To Make the Citrus Cocktail
Fill cocktail glass with ice. Pour in remaining ingredients and stir to combine.
Garnish with strawberry or lemon slice. Serve and enjoy!
