Hi Cathy,
This makes us so happy to hear! And you're speaking our language — plenty of sauce is non-negotiable around here. Smart move weighing the cheese too, that extra in the middle and on top never hurts! Thank you for the detailed review and for giving it a spot in your rotation!

This was very good and it's very close to the O.G. version. I weighed the shredded cheeses and ended up with more than is called for in cups. I just used more in the middle layer and on top. The sauce is great and there is plenty for the recipe. (we think O.G. skimps on sauce sometimes....) I'll definitely be making this again!

Hi LuAnn,
Yes! Doubling this recipe for a 9x13 pan works perfectly, double the frosting too, since the recipe as written only makes enough for the 8x8. Start checking for doneness around the same 30-35 minute mark, but it may need a few extra minutes since the pan is larger — go by the toothpick test rather than the clock. Enjoy!

Hi Kathy,
This makes us so happy to hear! 🍌 And that light, fluffy texture is exactly what we're going for — so glad it delivered! Your serving combo with the banana cream pie ice cream, hot caramel, and whipped cream sounds absolutely incredible. Thank you for sharing, pure decadence indeed!

Hi Jane,
Yes! Since the base of this cake is just a boxed chocolate cake mix, swapping in your favorite gluten-free chocolate cake mix should work great as a 1:1 substitute. Everything else in the recipe (Dr Pepper, pudding mix, frosting) is naturally gluten-free already — just double check your instant pudding mix label to be safe. Enjoy!
