A Look Back at the Week of May 14, 2012

Happy Saturday Slow Roasters!  This has been an exciting week here at TSRI.  We have been working on the blog and some fabulous recipes this week.  Additionally, I finally had an opportunity to make and enjoy some fresh Strawberry Jam.  It is amazing!  I am going to write up a new post with the original recipe that includes some tips for jam making next week.  Sometimes a refresher is good.

I am so overwhelmed with joy I can barely contain myself.  My parents are coming to visit in a few weeks.  We have so much planned and one thing I would like to do is to make jam with my mom.  We will be in the height of strawberry season, so I am triply excited about this.

The most popular post this week was of course the incredibly decadent Peanut Butter Fudge Chocolate Cake.  Not surprising.  This cake is easy to make.  It is stunning and it is so good, you will have to drag yourself away.  Perhaps kicking and screaming.  But, never fear.  You can make it again some day.  I made this for Mother's Day for my mother in law, Chad's mom was not offering any left overs to us, if you know what I mean.  It is actually a good thing though.  Because I cake.  I love chocolate cake, vanilla cake, peanut butter cake, angel food cake.  Pretty much if it has the word cake in it, I love it!  I could eat the whole thing myself.

Better to put your fork away and give the cake as a gift!
