TRSI Week in Review

We had a very exciting week here at TSRI.  We have been planting starters for our garden, and cooking up a storm.  We have 3 seedlings sprouting (Roma tomato, Isis Candy Cherry Tomato and German Chamomile), I am so excited.  Munchkin is too.  The Roma tomato plant is hers.  Needless to say we have about 60 other starters and are very excited to get to the nursery this morning for mulch, manure and gypsum.  From what I understand a good mixture in my area is 1/3 existing soil, 1/3 sand, 1/3 mulch.  Mix that together and the add some manure and gypsum.  Perfect Arizona soil.  We are also starting our compost.

This is a new endeavor for us, but I am oddly excited!!!

This week we had 5 fabulous recipes posted, however last weeks Roasted Vegetable Penne Pasta is still cranking.  It is now our number 1 all time recipe.  I do hope you have had a chance to try it.  It is amazingly simple and so delicious!  Its funny how these things happen.  I made this while Chad was out back working on Munchkins playland.  Obviously, I wasn't going to ask him to take a picture (as he is the resident photographer extraordinaire) so I plopped it on a patio chair (with a great pattern) and took like 5 pictures.  He picked the best one and worked his magic.  Go figure 9,000 hits already.  Geeesh!

This weeks most popular post is Dried Banana Coins.  A very healthy snack that is easy to take with you or eat at home.  We love these!!!  One dehydrator full made 1 1/2 gallons (3 half gallon jars) of banana chips. This photo is a great example of Chad's photography skill.  See the difference.

The Mint Chocolate Shamrocktini is a huge hit this week.  A beautiful cocktail with a fantastic flavor combination of mint and chocolate, a St Patrick's spectacular drink.

The next most popular post of this week is Mondays The Secret Recipe Club post.  This week we posted
Rosemary Lemon Pound Cake that was absolutely divine!!!

Next most popular is the Cinnamon Swirl Bread that I made for Chad for Valentine's Day.  It was hugely successful and not one crumb of this bread went to waste.  Next time I will make 2!!!

Last but not least, yesterdays post: my take on a Shamrock Milk Shake.  Similar to McDonald's idea, but done so much better!!!  Chad loves this so much I have made it at least 5 times in the last 2 weeks!  So so good!

I do hope you have enjoyed this weeks posts!  If you get to make or bake anything on the blog, please link back to your post.  We love to see your results!!!

Have a great weekend and we will see you Monday!

Buon Appetito!!
