Holiday parties are so much more fun when you know how to Host a Stress-Free party! Here are some tips, tricks and recipes to make your party perfect. We are so excited to be partnering with Freixenet to help you simplify your holiday get-together.
Holiday parties are fabulous but can be incredibly overwhelming, trust me I know. We host an annual Christmas party and believe me, back in the day it was exhausting. I would plan for months, prepare for weeks and cook for days. I about needed a vacation by the time the party started. Honestly, no one needs that kind of stress. Not to mention, that takes the fun out of having a party.
Over the years I have really pulled it together. I can plan and prepare leaving enough time and energy to mingle with my guests and enjoy myself. Now I can share my plan with you. I have put together some fun tips for hosting a stress-free holiday party.

The Christmas season is the best time of year and our annual holiday party is my absolute favorite party! Simplifying a Christmas party makes it so much more fun for you and your guests. We are so excited to be partnering with Smirnoff to help you craft your holiday party.
I always start party planning by choosing a theme. It can be a simple choice of colors or you can go all out and create a Winter Wonderland Celebration. I like simple. Old world colors of deep reds and golds make me happy. I will send out an invitation that reflects that theme. My invitations will include a lovely image on the front cover and You Are Invited: Our Annual Christmas Party. I actually used to mail out our invites, but in the last few years I have started using online invites and I like it so much more. Simple.
The details for the party are inside the invite. We are serving appetizers, desserts and cocktails. Therefore the party will start a little later than an actual dinner party. Our party starts at 7:30pm. The perfect time. I also let our guests know that it will be appetizers, desserts and cocktails. Lastly I will tell them what the appropriate attire is and to bring a gift to exchange if they would like to participate and the value of the gift.

Our little Munchkin turned 2!! We had an amazing birthday party for her. She is a huge Elmo fan, and we are huge fans of turning up the volume a little bit. So, it was Elmo polka dot theme. Special appearances by Abby Cadabby and Zoe (Elmo's 2 best friends) as well as his goldfish Dorothy.
Having a party for a 2 year old with attendees that ranged from 10 months to 15 years (as well as many adults) was very fun to prepare for. We wanted to make sure that along with great food, company and music there was a lot to keep everyone occupied and having a great time!

Happy Satuday and welcome to Date Night and Dinner Parties.
At our last get together we had a Mexican food night. We had a Taco Bar, 7 Layer Mexican Bean Dip, Pico De Gallo, chips and beer. It was amazing and so much fun. It was all laid out on the table and served family style. Perfect evening!
So, I made the taco's with 93% lean beef and the Taco Seasoning I posted here. The beef was amazing. Mr W pointed out that it had great flavor and perfect color.
We laid out all the topping, lettuce, tomato, onion, pico de gallo, cheese, sour cream, refried beans, spicy rice, salsa verde and red chili sauce. It was so much fun and such great food. Hope you enjoy!
Taco meat (recipe follows)
Pico de gallo
Shredded Mexican cheese blend
Place all toppings in 1 cup bowls with spoons to serve them with. Place taco meat in an appropriate bowl.
Serve and enjoy!
1 pound 93% lean beef
1/4 cup water
Extra virgin olive oil, for drizzling
In a medium size skillet over medium-high heat, drizzle olive oil, once pan is warm. Brown beef in pan.
Once done browning add taco seasoning and water. Stir until thickened. Remove to a bowl. Serve along side toppings for a fantastic Taco Bar!!!
