It has been such a beautiful week. Temperatures are dropping at long last. During an evening walk this week Chad burst in the house and rushed me out the door to catch the most spectacular sky. As the sun shone through the clouds it created picturesque sun rays reaching for the heavens. You have to check out our  Instagram account to see the full picture. It is amazing!

We started family reading a few weeks ago. We began with books that I consider classic literature for children. We started with Charlotte's Web because what is more 'classic children's literature'? Last week we read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and this week we have been reading Pippy Longstocking.

We have been following each book with the movie and talking about characters, story lines and how stories are changed to become a movie. It has been a lot of fun and each night before I read, Munchkin reads us a story. It is so precious. I love sharing this 'unplugged' family time.

By the way, the countdown is on for our Disneyland trip. Please email me you must do and must see. Of course I am looking for the best food too!

In the kitchen this week, fall has begun.  Apple, peach and baked desserts are in the works. Mac and cheese one-pot meals and soups. Granted it's only 90, so I have the air turned down and I am pretending its fall already. What's Sizzling in my kitchen this week? There is a lot of crockpot cooking and soups and mac and cheese. Quick and easy one pot meals are common too that and salads and protein shakes. LOL.

I hope you enjoyed catching up! {{Let me know in the comments below.}}

With love from our simple kitchen to yours.
