I love cooking with Jack Daniels!  It reduces down and adds such a fantastic flavor.  The first dish we made were Jack Daniels Pork Chops.  They were soooo good that Chad didn’t eat anything else for a week.

Jack Daniels Marinade

I knew the flavor of whiskey would be fabulous in a marinade recipe, so that’s how this Jack Daniels marinade and glaze came to be.

I’m telling you, this whiskey glaze is sooo amazing.  It features Jack’s smoky/sweet flavor with a kick from chili paste to kick things up a bit.  It can be used on pork, chicken and even steak if you want! I even drizzle it over air fryer nachos

The ultimate Jack Daniels recipes came soon after this one.  A whiskey pulled pork sandwich and a dessert with Jack Daniels – these brownies!!  Did I say I love cooking with Jack?  Oh yes I do, and you will too.

What is your favorite spirit to cook with? Dinner’s Ready, now go get your grill on!

Enjoy!

Course Pantry Staple
Cuisine American
Method Stovetop
Servings 2 cups

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons molasses
  • 1/2 cup Jack Daniel's Whiskey
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili paste, I used Gourmet Garden
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients except cornstarch and water to a medium sized saucepan over medium heat. Whisk to combine.
Bring mixture to a boil, whisking frequently. If you want to use this for a marinade ONLY, remove the pan from heat, allow mixture to cool to room temperature, then use as desired.

To Make a Grilling Sauce

  • To thicken the whiskey marinade to use as a grilling sauce:
Whisk cornstarch and cold water together in a small bowl, then add to the boiling marinade mixture. Whisk to combine and allow to boil for 2 to 3 minutes, or until thickened.
  • Remove from heat and use as desired. Enjoy!

  1. This is right up our alley and thanx very much for sharing! Have you ever made a big batch of this and stored in fridge? Im thinking it should keep well for awhile considering the JD in there. Have you any recommendations?

    1. I have 4x the batch, I have not kept it longer than 3 weeks in the fridge because we love it so much. please let me know how yours does in the fridge. XOXO Donna

  2. kinda confused…..said mix all ingrediants….the the last part is mix cornstarch and water? which is it?

  3. I’m a Captain Morgan’s(original spiced rum)lover myself. How do you think that would work in place of the JD?
